Sales Analyst – Institutional

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary objective of this role is to develop a deep understanding of the institutional investment marketplace through profiling, research, analysis, and the use of market intelligence tools to support business development efforts.  This position is a multi-functional role and will work closely with the business development team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide proactive, actionable analysis positioning Diamond Hill strategies within the competitive landscape.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Diamond Hill investment process, philosophy, and each strategy’s risk controls and return profile.
  • Develop deep understanding of the institutional marketplace through profiling, research, analysis, and market intelligence tools.
  • Monitor the Consultant sold marketplace and profile key participants.
  • Provide support and preparation for finals presentations.
  • Design actionable, clear reporting and provide actionable insight on sales metrics and progress for the business.
  • Understand and monitor data quality within sales data and work to resolve or improve identified issues.
  • Develop expertise with third party sales and related data and incorporate into Data warehouse and CRM tools.
  • Become proficient in multiple databases and research tools utilized by the Product Team (Morningstar Direct, eVestment, FactSet, Broadridge, etc.).
  • Incorporate, design, and develop key metrics and fields within CRM system to support analysis.
  • Provide general CRM support as needed.
  • Participate in general data related initiatives as needed.
  • Leverage Business Intelligence and visualization tools where appropriate.
  • Complete and assist in the completion, review, and development of RFP, RFI, and DDQs from a competitive intelligence focus.
  • Participate in Distribution Team meetings or calls as required.
  • Support Portfolio Specialist team with meeting preparation and as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent excel skills required. Comfortable managing large amounts of data successfully. 
  • 1-10 years of industry experience required.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic background required, preferably in investment, finance, economics or related business discipline.
  • CFA (progress toward or desire to pursue), CIPM, CIMA, or other industry designation a plus.
