Senior Product Manager
Diamond Hill Capital Management
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary objective of this role is to provide research and analysis on the Diamond Hill strategies within the competitive landscape to support new strategy development. This position is a multi-functional role serving as a subject matter expert on industry and investment product trends.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a deep understanding of Diamond Hill suite of products & key competitors as well as the asset management industry as a whole.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Diamond Hill investment process, philosophy, and each strategy’s risk controls and return profile.
- Breakdown market trends and competitor fund flows to understand how Diamond Hill is positioned. Be aware of key issues affecting the industry by staying on top of industry news flow.
- Provide proactive, actionable analysis positioning Diamond Hill strategies within the competitive landscape.
- Perform analysis related to attribution, market trends, SWOT, profitability, and pricing.
- Manage Product Team vendors.
- Serve as subject matter expert on Investment Strategies for marketing, distribution, client service and other internal departments.
- Create product and project plans that evaluate investment vehicles, their estimated distribution, market, and operational considerations; plans will be developed collaboratively to include operations, marketing and sales components.
- Drive overall development, launch, and integration of new products and services through coordinating cross-functional teams and project management.
- Responsible for providing research and support on industry trends, targeted marketing initiatives, new product development, and product management.
- Coordinate and develops product strategy, reporting, monitoring and maintenance of product related information internally and in third-party tools (Lipper, Morningstar, Bloomberg).
- Develop deep relationship with Investment Team.
- Complete and assist in the completion, review, and development of RFP, RFI, and DDQs.
- Proficient in multiple databases and research tools utilized by the Product Team (for example; Morningstar Direct, eVestment, FactSet, Broadridge, etc.).
- Ad-hoc research initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent excel skills required. Comfortable managing large amounts of data successfully.
- Existing understanding of global regulatory environment for investment products.
- 10+ years of industry experience required.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic background required, preferably in investment, finance, economics or related business discipline.
- MBA a plus.
- CFA (or progress toward), CIPM, CIMA, or other industry designation preferred.
