Senior Sales Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary objective of this role is to provide analysis, research, and profiling of the global investment product marketplace to support business development and product strategy.  This role is a multi-functional role and will work closely with the business development team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide proactive, actionable analysis positioning Diamond Hill strategies within the competitive landscape.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Diamond Hill investment process, philosophy, and each strategy’s risk controls and return profile.
  • Develop deep understanding of the global investment product marketplace through profiling, research, analysis, and market intelligence tools.
  • Support and develop product and distribution strategy through reporting, monitoring and research of sales related information internally and in third-party tools (Lipper, Morningstar, Bloomberg).
  • Work closely with Distribution leadership to develop reporting and be able to present findings and trends to all levels of management.
  • Master third party sales and related data and incorporate into Data warehouse and CRM tools.
  • Understand and monitor data quality within sales data and work to resolve or improve identified issues. Communicate impact to sales management.
  • Incorporate, design, and develop key metrics and fields within CRM system to support analysis.
  • Provide expertise and best practices across multiple databases and research tools utilized by the Product Team (Morningstar Direct, eVestment, FactSet, Broadridge, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent excel skills required. Comfortable managing large amounts of data successfully. 
  • 5+ years of industry experience required.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic background required, preferably in investment, finance, economics or related business discipline.
  • CFA (or progress toward), CIPM, CIMA, or other industry designation preferred.
