Investors have various motivations for incorporating environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) considerations and values in their investment portfolios. ESG refers to the three central factors in measuring the sustainability and ethical impact of an investment in a company or business. Some investors need to meet mandated environmental or social goals, others do it for reputational or political reasons, while others may act on a belief that strong ESG companies will outperform over a long time horizon. This presentation will discuss how an ESG orientation can affect the performance of the portfolio and how best to structure and ESG-oriented portfolio to deliver strong performance.
